The U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) have issued tariff increases on over $200 billion in imported products from China, including lighting components, lighting fixtures, and lighting controls. This tariff, known as Section 301 List 3, will now impose a 25% tax on listed products effective January 1, 2019.
To support our customers, we are working with our suppliers and manufacturers to absorb as much of this tax as possible. However, this new level of tariffs, combined with increased cost for metals, electronic components, freight, and other logistics costs, gives us no choice but to raise prices on the products we include in our projects.
Effective January 1st, a price increase will go into effect on a significant portion of our LED products.
All orders placed and shipped before December 31, 2018, will be at the current price levels.
If you have any questions as to how this price increase may affect any projects we are currently working on for you and your company, please reach out to your Lighting Consultant as soon as possible.

NOTE: Please know that a tariff on LED components was phased in over the past several months and are now fully in place. While we buy LED fixtures from some American manufacturers, they are not immune to the tariffs. How is this? Because many of the components used by American LED manufacturing companies are sourced from China. I bring this up to make sure everyone understands that no matter what label is on the LED–whether it says “Made in the USA” or “Made in China”–it is subject to the tariff. There is no way around this. All we can do is be creative in how we source our products and work with manufacturers to get them to absorb as much of the tariff costs as possible so we do not experience a large price increase on what we buy directly from manufacturers all over the world.
