We’re looking for a Project Operations Assistant with great organizational and communication skills to help audit and analyze energy-efficient lighting retrofit projects across North America. We are open to working with people in the lighting field, recent college graduates, those with a penchant for energy efficiency, anyone who knows LED lighting really well, etc. We are NOT looking for a maintenance person, but a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with great communication skills. (Preference will be given to applicants with thorough knowledge of all types of commercial lighting systems, but this is NOT required.)

This entry-level position is mainly responsible for the initial assessment of retrofit projects for lighting (i.e. conducting lighting system audits) while also assisting in the specification and implementation of turn-key LED installation projects. While knowledge of lighting systems and energy efficiency projects are preferred, we will train you on all required industry knowledge as well as company operations procedures.

The job will be based in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Our main office and warehouse are located in Hendersonville, TN, just north of Nashville. This position is based 70% out of the office (onsite at customer locations) with occasional (less than 20%) overnight and multi-day trips. We have sales reps in the Memphis, TN, area as well as Greenville, SC, and Sacramento, CA.

Our #1 priority is to hire someone with great people skills and top-notch organizational skills that can interact with customers in a professional manner and perform thorough & detailed lighting audits. If you also have lighting certifications or electrical knowledge, that is a huge plus! Applicants with experience in the fast-paced entrepreneurial environment of a growing small business will be given top priority.

JOB DUTIES OVERVIEW
 


  • Perform detailed Lighting Energy Audits onsite at various commercial and industrial locations (Hospitals, Warehouses, Distribution Centers, Office buildings, etc.)
  • Calculate and complete utility incentive applications for new projects
  • 
Assist Project Manager with large project logistics and customer deliveries
  • Assist Project Manager with the managing of smaller local projects
  • 
Assist Senior Project Operations Coordinator with organization of the company warehouse
  • 
Oversee product testing and manufacturer returns process
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Project Operations

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience in dealing with professional customers directly in a friendly and effective manner

  • Physical ability to spend a large amount walking project sites
Proficient with following technolgy:

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE


  • 
Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of all types of commercial lighting systems (LED, Fluorescent, Halogen/Incandescent, Metal Halide/HPS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lighting terminology (lumen, lux/footcandle, CCT, CRI, etc.)
  • Experience with energy efficiency incentives (i.e. grants, financing, tax incentives, utility rebates, etc.)
  • 
Familiarity with electrical systems (voltage requirements, amperage loads, etc.)
  • 
Have a firm grasp of energy terminology (kWh, voltage, wattage, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively read and understand electric bills
  • 
Experience in reading engineering and lighting layouts
Knowledge of the following technology:
  • AutoCAD
  • DIALux, Visual 3D, or AGI32
  • SnapCount, or equivalent lighting audit software
