Is there a guarantee that I will save that energy?
Yes!* You will definitely save energy and save money. When you argue with math, you lose. We are so confident in your projected savings that we will offer you a written guarantee of those savings. this guarantee is backed by an A.M. Best A+ Rated insurance company who will pay you in the unlikely event that your actual savings are lower than your projected savings. You can’t lose!

How long will it take for me to see a drop in my energy bills?
Most customers begin seeing their savings within the first six months of installation. Some customers see a drop in their energy bills immediately. Others don’t see it for up to six months later. Why? Seasonal weather changes that put higher loads on HVAC energy uses, changes in hours of operation in the facility, increases in other electrical use in the facility, etc. But rest assured that your savings are guaranteed!*

How do you calculate my savings?

The formula for calculating lighting energy is this: Watts x Hours of Use x Cost of Energy ÷ 1000. The one variable in the predictions is the hours of use. We use data sourced from your employees to tell us the exact hourly use of the lights in each area. These hours are clearly displayed in our proposal so you know what hour usages we used in our calculations. Assuming these hours are constant (i.e. the same BEFORE and AFTER the project), your savings are going to exactly what we project. If they change–either up or down–if will affect the kWh savings by a direct correlation. Nevertheless, you will still save the wattage and kWh charge on the new lamp over what it would have been with the old one. If occupancy sensors are chosen to be utilized as part of the proposed solution, the hours of operation will decrease, causing greater savings above the projected savings from a decrease in base wattage.

How long do LEDs last?
LEDs do not burn out like other light bulbs (although sudden failure can occur, its extremely rare). Instead their brightness slowly fades. So, if the lifespan of an LED is 50,000 hours, that is the point when the bulb will most likely be shining at around 70% capacity (the industry assumes people notice a decrease in brightness at that point). In actuality, LEDs NEVER burn out! LEDs have no filaments, no metal fatigue, no oxidation and no evaporation of electrical components. Compare that to both incandescent and CFLs, which are fragile and have to be handled like eggs. On the other hand LEDs are robust, very rugged, solid state devices with no glass to break. LEDs are made on substrate semiconductor materials such as GaAs (Gallium-Arsenide). There are two doped regions, P – positive and N – negative. When current passes through the PN junction it causes electrons to jump to higher atomic energy states. When the electrons return to the ground state, light in the form of photons is emitted. This phenomenon is called electro-luminescence and it consumes very little energy since very little heat is generated. LEDs have no problematic filaments, no wear or tear, nothing is changed or altered hence they keep on working for extraordinary long lengths of time.

Why is LED lighting better than traditional lighting?
LEDs last longer, cost less to maintain, contain no hazardous chemicals or materials like mercury (Hg), produce little to no heat, can be engineered to project light only where you want it and the exact color temperature of light you want, and cost less to own over time than traditional lighting.Learn More
Do LED lights cause headaches like flourescent lights do?
No. Fluorescent lights flicker all the time, but most people cannot perceive it with their eyes until the light is close to the end of its useful life.

LEDs do not flicker. However, if you stare at an LED light directly for an extended period of time, this could cause headache.

Learn More

Are LED lights easy on the environment and recyclable?
Yes! They contain no hazardous chemicals or materials like mercury (Hg) and are 100% recyclable.Learn More
What type of warranty is offered on the LEDs?
At any time during the first 60 months* after your installation is completed, all you have to do is request a replacement and return the defective bulb/fixture and you’re all set. The warranty covers normal failure that is not caused by breakage, acts of God, electrical surges, etc. (*99% of our lighting products are covered with a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer.) Labor is included for the first six months. However, if you enter into an Energy Savings Agreement with us, your labor is included for five years!

Where do you source your LED lights?

We strive to work directly with manufacturers that we’ve met face-to-face and who have their offices located in the USA. This type of close relationship with our manufactures allow us to offer direct pricing that cuts out distributor mark-ups. However, our experience in the industry gives us the ability to work with any manufacturer along every step of the supply-chain from direct-to-factory relationships to lighting agents and distributors. As of 2020, we work with over 20 different LED manufacturers.

Who will install the LED lights in my building?
Our specialty is offering turn-key projects, so we can use our own fully-licensed and insured contractors to install our projects. We also have our ELS Electric division that can handle installations in the Nashville-area. However, if you have a preferred electrical contractor we would love to partner with them to install the project.
Will our maintenance costs be reduced if we retrofit to LEDs?
Yes. Most companies have no idea how much they are spending on maintenance until it is eliminated.

We help eliminate the need for much of your lighting maintenance.

Learn More

What is the average time to complete an LED lighting retrofit?
The time it takes to execute a project depends upon size and access.

We completed the largest LED retrofit in the world in Summer 2014 (~35,000 fixtures) and it took us less than four months.

What do you we do with our old light bulbs and ballasts? Are we required by law to recycle them or can we put them in the dumpster?
All of the old equipment should be recycled. If desired, we can provide recycling services as part of the project.

Of course, you can donate old equipment to a non-profit like Habitat for Humanity ReStore and receive a tax credit.

Do you do new construction or retrofits only?
Both! If you want energy efficient lighting we can do it!

Learn More

Do you do residential and commercial?
We specialize in commercial buildings only.Learn More
What types of commercial buildings do you work with?
We specialize in helping commercial businesses who have at least $10,000 per month or more in electricity costs. Some of our customers have multi-million-dollar electricity bills–that is, they HAD them before they hired us!
